Membership Roster
  • Where does the scholarship money come from?

Membership dues, annual member donations and sponsors who support our
fund raising activities provide the money we need for our scholarship
program which benefits descendants of Trenton Catholic alumni.

  • What are the criteria for the selection of scholarship winners?

Recipients must  be related to a TC graduate or a former student in
attendance when the school was closed in 1962.  Other considerations
include SAT scores, grade point average, class rank, extra curricular
activities, financial need and extenuating circumstances, not necessarily in
that order.  Club members are notified via our newsletter when applications
are ready for distribution.  Guidance counselors at area high schools assist in
    the distribution of applications.

  • How much should I contribute annually after my initial membership
    fee is paid?

That’s up to you.  We remind our members once a year about donating
whatever they can afford.  Some have given thousands while others offer a
much more modest amount whenever they can.  The commonly used
    expression applies ...
    “It’s the thought that counts.

  • Is the Trenton Catholic Golden Wave Club intended for “jocks”
    only?

Absolutely not.  Our  Franciscan teachers taught us the spirit of brotherhood,
and while our athletic teams certainly excelled in the sports arena, EVERY
STUDENT shared the TC experience and the glory of the Golden Wave.  We
are proud of the fact that our membership includes alumni, people who
transferred out of TC and even some who attended or graduated from other
    area high schools.

  • How much longer will the Club be operative?

That’s a question currently under careful consideration.  With the average age
of TC alumni now close to seventy and the youngest grad or ex-student
ready to hit age 60, we will develop a game plan for the day when we are all
reassembled on God’s own Chestnut Avenue campus.  New and existing
members will be asked to offer their opinions or ideas.  Meanwhile, our club is
more active than ever with some exciting events and innovations on the
    horizon.

  • Why should I join the club?

TCGWC members share the belief that our dedicated Franciscan teachers
provided the tools we needed to live a decent, informed life.  This represents
a unique opportunity to express your appreciation.  Please remember, “never
waiver, never weaken” is more than just a line from our fight song.  It’s a
challenge to keep the flame of our youth burning.
